Strawberries have been growing at the Cannon Road location in Carlsbad for over 40 years. The field is approximately 80 acres in size and borders the Batiquitos Lagoon to the east and Interstate 5 to the west. The temperate climate in Carlsbad and the proximity to the Pacific Ocean makes for ideal strawberry growing conditions. The cool marine layer allows the harvest of berries into the summer, sometimes until the end of July. More about Picking Up your Own Strawberries

A1 Biplane, Air Combat & Warbird Adventures Just this past weekend, myself and three friends were fortunate enough to get to go up and have aerial dog fights- just like what you see on Top Gun. We flew over the San Diego/Carlsbad coast in Varga VG-21s. Brandon and Chuck were great pilots and instructors and allow a lot of room for you to "play" and "dogfight". We all had an awesome, unique one-of-a-kind experience. For me, I think it was the most fun thing I've ever done! I would highly reccommend anyone who can to do this. TripAdvisor.com User

Legoland California This was a great experience for our 5 and 6 year olds. The park is clean, attractive, VERY well-designed for youngsters, healthy and tasty food available at reasonable prices and locations throughout the park. Some rides which were fun and suitable for younger kids, but fun for the accompanying adults as well. Cool construction made from legos everywhere you looked. Super fun water "fountain" play area near the entrance which was almost the highlight of the visit.
